was tough enough getting the basic/H binrat...math, q's, phonetics and reg's np, but damn the electrical was a bugger. I'm the type that has to see that kind of thing to get it, and the book just didn't give me that.
The a99 gives me decent "tuned" bandwidth from 14-30, but again, it's a false...
As always CK, appreciate and value your input. I want to do the 6m due to it's small footprint (as per my other thread you replied to), was hoping others with more knowledge would confirm my suspicions that regardless of a 50ohm match that an antenna built for one range of frequencies is just...
Just passed Basic/Honours (Canadian standards=full range with 250w)
Presently i run an a99...Internal tuner of Yaesu FT-950 seems to tune fine 18Mhz thru 30Mhz
Looking to build 2 beams (LFA)...one for 6m, and one other but not sure which freq. range i should aim for that will hopefully give...
I think the exception might be why would i rewrite if i passed :) Only thing i failed to do was get honours which allows me full freq. usage.
They do allow unlimited rewrites for sub 70 scores, w/o honours though i'm not sure of and haven't been able to find anything on the IC or even the RAC...
i didn't think I could binrat? I know you can rewrite if you fail, but haven't seen anything about rewriting for basic honours. I thought my only option was to shoot for Advanced/Tech?
hope things work out for you too CK :)
If you're willing to go with only 6' between monsters like the tribander and A3WS i should be alright :)
as always, thanx for your advice!!
oooh crap, i meant vertical on the top CK, my bad
prob an imax 2000 to start, i have one here i paid $60 for
i'll use the home made 6m underneath it to act as somewhat of a gpk
all in all i'll lose a little over a foot with those two
the 11 meter will be just above the top bearing...
Hey all..
If i'm throwing up 3 antennas i start with the beam at top, i can toss a 6m right below it and finally an 11m just off the tip of the tower..??
I'm planning to add a lower plate to the tower for the rotor (probably two rungs...Golden Nugget tower), giving the mast more stability so...
that's what a lot of people have said :) was a while ago and no worse for wear
....what i've found actually is when you have all that power and don't use so it's rattling your nuts, the things you actually hear on cds is incredible. I was more SQ than SPL but for the car shows etc ya had to...
BACKRACK
where's the antenna mounted?
i originally had a set of 4' twins on mine (box height) but the range really blew...no where as short as 10 feet but no more than 20 miles
two yellow tops in the trunk and a PAC isolator might probably do the trick
i use to pump 3k watts into a stereo for hours on a stock '05 civic alternator
