Hey all,
I am brand new to amature radio, having just passed my Tech exam. I'm hoping I can get some opinions/answers on a question I have.
I don't yet have a proper multi-band HF radio, still waiting for that sweet deal on an Icom 7000. The question I have is: are the RCI 2950/2970 an ok...
Heck yes! I remember chatting a while! I might need some help with a Galaxy Pluto and a Superstar 3900 I picked up. One won't stay on freq and the other is missing a final (maybe a mosfet conversion?) And won't key up.
How late are you usually out working? I normally get home around 3am and...
Had a little DX rolling this noon here in Iowa before the Spanish speakers took over. I was hearing a lot of California and a little bit of Oklahoma.
I couldn't seem to get through the mud on a barefoot RCI 2950, and just assembled a new dipole I made from copper tubing and was hoping to test...
Hey Exit13, Waterloo here too! I work 2nd shifts or I would be all over that. I do get on when I have the time, and just got a new dipole finished up for the attic last night, but no idea if it works yet as the band was completely dead last night.
222DBFL, my numbers are 595 Northeast Iowa...
Hello, I'm a little late to the party on this post, but I live about 2 hours from Walcott, and they do fine work, and are great people to do business with.
I tried to buy a radio from Bells, but they never seem to answer their phone. Bud is good about emailing, and they are likely short of...
Just out of curiosity, does anyone have any idea how much I'm losing by not having my dipole mounted outdoors, but instead in the attic of my garage underneath shingles and a wood roof?
FWIW, when the DX is rolling, I have no trouble hearing either coast or making contacts. When the band is...
I constructed my own dipole out of a 10 ft extension cord. Cut the recepticle end off, spread the wires and solder the center to one plug braid, and the shield to the other.
I have mine hung in the attic of my shop in aproximately an 80 degree, inverted V configuration.
Using a Galaxy 94, I...
Thanks for the info. I like the small size, but the lack of sideband capability does damper the enthusiasm some. Thinking it might make a nice compact radio though for the daily.
I have a Galaxy 94 at home on a home made dipole. Just kinda want something small for roadtrips.
Hello, does anyone have any info on the Stryker SR 89 MC? I like the small size of the unit and that it's all contained in the mic. Just wondered about performance and durability.
I have been trying to get a hold of Bells CB, but they are hard to catch on the phone!
Thanks for any insight...
