If its a piece of equipment that I just acquired, I remove all knobs and soak in warm water with some dish detergent first. Then use a soft toothbrush if necessary. For the equipment I already own, I try not to get them dirty.

I completed the kit and did notice a moderate improvement. I was a bit nervous of replacing the N.B. diodes since they very different looking compared to the new Schotkkies. The NB works fine. Overall it was a few dollars well spent.

I know he bought it used and it worked great for a long time. He did have an issue with blowing fuses and had that fixed. This new problem came suddenly so it wasn't like it happened after someone fooled with it.

I used FROST KING air conditioner replacement filter material for my 575. About $1.50 at Lowes.

This is a friends radio. The receive audio is distorted, almost like when you turn off the AGC on a radio that allows that. I witnessed this myself. He wants me to take it home and see if I can find the problem. Any ideas?
