They make both the 3/8" mount, and UHF mount like a Wilson 1000. So when you're buying one just verify which mount it has.

Check craigslist often and fast. I've missed more than one great deal on test gear because I skipped a day.

I've only had a little time to play around with it, but I got it during their presidents day event. QT-60, 5" mag mount, prog. cable, all for $179.95, and it was impossible to say "No" to that deal! (can't seem to find wx/NOAA modes though)

There was a shop in the 80's that had a big sign, behind the glass cases and above where you could see it that said "IF you think the Customer is always right, turn around and go right back through the door you came in"

If the DX10 is used as a base, you'll be fine, but the dim screen can make it difficult to read while mobile.

I have one headed this way.

I haven't done much other than pwr on/off the QT-40 because I'm in the middle of reviewing the QT-60 and President George II EU, but I'll get 'round tuit because I really want to see what it will do, and what it'll do when compared to the QT60, George FCC, George II EU.

I bought lot of these (only nicer outer case with a Midland logo on it) about 10-15 years ago for $20ea. and sold them for $40. At times, even at the $40 price point they could be difficult to sell. Out of the last half dozen, I gave one to a son, and sold the remaining 5 for $30 ea.

And many times their sales prices, while very good, include extras like, a mag mount or antennas, etc. at the same crazy sales price. I've benefited in the last month or so buying the QT60 and QT40 on sale, with the freebies!

If you went as far as replacing all the 10v blue caps, and the others were just barely in tolerance but checked "okay" I'd tell the customer he could run it with the just in tolerance caps but you recommended that they too should be replaced (after all, you're already in a prime position to...
