I'm tired of forums being spammed with a 2 1/2+ year old watered down version of a blog post. Why not just post a link to the original?
The Old Jarhead: I'm Tired--some updates
Do you really think that plastering this all over the Internet will make difference?
James from Pro Tech CB Shop used to claim to be the exclusive dealer for the preacher amps, but his web site (Pro Tech) went under a few months back. I think he might still be selling odds and ends on Fee Pay. I only read one post on another forum (cbrt) that Pro Tech was a sponsor at about the...
I had an in depth conversation with 'the man' prior to the last radio I purchased from him. I requested no AMC disable but when I got the radio it had been disabled. I got the same kind of 'customer service' you received when I called to talk to him about it. I was very cordial and respectful so...

They have been marketed as the 'Max 2000' for a few years now. The wording 'Imax' was an infringement on a trademark already in use so they had to change the name to avoid a law suit.
Nice mod. A little constructive critisism:
Instead of cutting the (yellow) wire and splicing another wire to it remove the wire from the PCB and solder it to the center leg of the pot.
Run a new single piece of wire from the PCB (where yellow wire was removed) to the left leg of the pot...
Yep, I think you'd have a better chance of communicating with your friends/family by constructing a network consisting of soup cans and fishing line...
I agree with you in part. Technically, there is no 'freeband'. However, those frequencies are not an 'empty lot'. Just because you don't hear activity on them when you tune to them doesn't mean they are 'free' to use. A lot of those frequencies are licensed and allocated to government, military...
