Right out of the box, my 88hl dead keys 3 watts and swings to 25 watts in AM mode. Slightly higher or lower shouldn't make much difference. I haven't checked the output reading for SSB. Like Freecell said, your 12 watt RMS with the Bird wattmeter could be about right. </p>
