run the coax length you need from radio to antenna. get ground straps and ground your toolbox to frame on each side of box.

the 10k is 9" lower shaft, not sure on overall length. the coax came with 17' of rg58.

yep, i think that would be sufficient. the 10k is a light, light, but strong antenna. Jim, if you picked one up, you would be shocked as to how light they are.

I traded in the monkey and a meter on it. his price was $69 for it. I have never heard of your black antenna, how does it perform? I am thinking of getting my 10k lower and upper shaft powdercoated black.

all single coil. the 6" shaft did fine. I had a 22" shaft and bought a trimag so I needed a shorter shaft on the roof. bought a 6" lower shaft and new stinger and converted the 22". tuned down pretty low but the stinger didnt need to be cut, actually I had to pull it up from the bottom of the...

its a quad mag mount. hell, a tri mag will hold it fine.

Not sure you can get much better as far as swr. Actually I didnt want the shaft and coil to stick up too far because I dont want it to get knocked off. I think the 9" is perfect for me. you're right, the longer shafts are supposed to tune better I have heard. I have had a 6" single coil, this...

i will try it out, i will put my lincoln in the mobile and see. I know the whip is pretty broadbanded. I used it for 10m and 11m no prob.

went back again to the 10k. I was using a 102" whip on my quad mag mount. couldnt get it to tune below 1.4. Then, I got a monkeymade mm9, she was pretty good, tuned to 1.3 on the same setup. I didnt really care for the looks all that much and she was heavy and didnt like to flex much at all...

because some folks dont want to.

traded in the monkey and went back to the good ole 10k. I have better swr reading with the messenger inline and she looks so much better too.
