First I'm taking the Technician exam and when I pass that, I can immediately take the General. I've been passing the practice exams, so I'm optimistic. I'm going to wait a little while and study some more though, before I take the Extra exam.

Yeah, learned about it in the Navy, for when ice builds up on a ship, I even just saw on TV not long ago, where they were knocking the ice off of the meteorlogical and radio equipment up on Mt. Washington. What a goof! :blushing:

Ibelieve it is the responsibility of the TV owner to rectify the problem, according to the ARRL handbooks. You can be nice and choose to run a low pass filter, which ended the problem for me. People with telephones can install an RFI filter or get a modern phone. It's unclear to me just what the...

The fuse was definately too big. I had just bought the rig 2nd hand and neglected to look at it. It wasn't until I crossed the wires and damaged it that I checked and found a 30A fuse.:headbang Lesson learned.

Shipped it out to Key CB in Warren, IN today. He figures it's the audio chip that fried. ($25.00) Well, whatever it is, he'll fix it.
