I don't have the V2 but do have some of the problems with it being cold. It takes a few minutes for it to reach the center of the frequency. This 959DX has been highly modded Clarrifier ,upper and lower freeks with the counter following right along, switchable on/off ALC, and more technical...
Thanks for the link to the water proof radio shell. That one looks the best of the one's I've been looking at. With a water proof shell like that I would probably hook up my 29LTD in near mint condition it has a great noise blanker.
This is my new Sirio Star Duster M-400 with LMR-400 about a year old now. These work great and seem to be wind resistant. I've watched storms come in and knock trees down and I used to run outside to see how my antenna was doing and it just was not moving. There is about 35 base stations around...
If your looking to NOT drill holes in your roof "I didn't" you may want to look into a EVE MOUNT they bolt up to your facia board at the peak of the roof.
I own a Pres. HR2510 and am wondering how this green flag lately on these radio's affect me...price up or down? I was seeing while they had been posted only minutes to hours before that there could be 15 bidders on a broken HR2510 and have the price up to $150.00. honestly every HR2510 was bid...
I finally got this hooked up right. The wiring, coax etc are all under the plastic body panels. I did wire the radio +- straight to the battery instead of the cig lighter outlet which just happens to be a outlet which is keyed. This would not be so good when sitting around the camp site. I got...
Update, It was hard to tell but as simple of a hook up as this could be I am plagued with problems. Seems some of my old radios just seemed to work and am not sure if their is a pl259 problem or antenna? New. Anyway I put it away but not done until this works right.
My President HR2510 was easily set at 2 watts dk and modulation it runs around 25 watts..SSB maybe 35 watts. This radio has been modded atleast 2X's Besides the normal 11 meter adjustment but the audio on AM couldn't be louder or clearer.
I took it apart and silicone both cabinet cases and the microphone has a drip guard as long as you hang it the right way and it has a quick release for the radio removal takes about 5 or seconds to remove it. So now the only thing left is not going in water "which I have done" that is higher...
I seem to have accumulated a few CB"s parts etc so I thought this would be cool it already has a GPS. The radio is a Radio Shack and a friend gave me a new Wilson silver something it's like a Fire Stick. When the regular base CB'ers got on last night I got out from my basement about 3 to 4 miles...
I have recently had work done on the 148GTL and the President HR2510 came fixed up with everything I would have done to it myself. On ebay if it gets by they sell for $200.00 $250.00 and with out the the 11 meter capable. I got my HR2510 for $75.00 and the 148GTL is a RCI built and was still in...
Thanks also for clarifying swr long short 1-40 Sometimes I wish I was like others "Hey it works great!" I have replaced the nut bolt antenna mount. The coax the antenna and even the radio all for poor trancieve LOL
I am running a thick gage wire from one of the four mount screws from the antenna mount to the frame. I believe the cab is grounded but would that help the swr?
