    Mobile APRS

Diamond MR77 Dual Band Mobile Antenna is nice. I stuck it on the back of my outback sport and ran the coax under the seats to the front. I also got this CSB-750A Comet CSB-750A CSB-770A CSB-790A. Comet CSB-7500 CSB-7700 CSB-7900 Mobile Antenna with this K702M mount, Diamond K702M Magnet Mount...

    APRS computer programs

Ya those work great, but we hang out around here duchesne ut - Google Maps and cell coverage is missing in parts. One of the big problems was drving around with a Macbook running a ported version of XASTIR connected to a D710 just to get APRS GPS coords plotted on a map AND using another laptop...

    Charger for VX8 fit a VX5?

If it fits then yes. There is the off chance that they changed the polarity on the plug but it should be just fine.

Thanks Doc. I've sent word to the group that we should try out UI-VIEW.

    APRS computer programs

I'm looking for something that might be easier to operate than XASTIR. I need to teach someone how to run a D710 with computer interface and there is too much hacking in the terminal for it to be very feasible. The software only needs to plot APRS packet GPS coordinates from a Kenwood D710...

Need help finding a logic hi from FT-1900R

I am looking for a logic high from inside a Yaesu FT-1900R when the radio decides to output audio. I have a complete paper circuit diagram, but can't find a .pdf one to share. The inside is really accessible and I have been able to poke around with a logic probe at various things. I have not...

Help debugging Kenwood TM-D710a dropout issue

Could be that you have and APRS packet auto transmitting. If the radio transmits (APRS ~ 1 second TX) the RX on both sides turns off until the TX is done. Reset the radio and see if it still acts up. That would narrow it down to software or hardware problem.

    Duplexer questions

We are still unsure if it is OK for the resistance across the duplexer cavities SO-239 center conductor and shield. Does anyone know if that is OK or not OK? Also, I still don't know why I can't connect a 25 W transmitter to a 12 dB insertion loss duplexer. I would assume it would just reduce...

One of the hardest things Ive ever had to do

Bummer dude. I read your post earlier and could say that thinking about losing my animal wouldn't be that big a deal. Fast forward an hour and my gf's puppy escaped into the rural neighborhood now that there isn't any snow hindering exploration. While I still don't feel any attachment towards...

Is Narrow/Wide FM a setting for the transmitter and the receiver, or just the receiver? What is the difference and what works better in different situations? tnx

    Duplexer questions

Right, 10*Log[25/0.001]=43.979 . Edit: My mistake, I was looking at the 10W setting. THANKS! I will not connect said 25W transmitter behind those cavities. May I ask why? OK, how do I do that? The response curve graph I posted is measuring the Transmission/Source ratio. Got one and am not...

    Duplexer questions

It is 600kHz between RX and TX. If I try to put an APRS digipeater in there, between APRS and RX it is 260kHz. And between APRS and TX there is 860kHz. Thanks C2
