Yeah its receiving fine I've been using it. I replaced tr46 and tr48 the amp buffer and tx voltage switch and it now keys up and transmits and the tx light works. But after a few key ups and the radio swinging from 5 watts to 30 a few times it now only keys 0.50 of a watt like the finals are out...
I have no tx or tx light on key up. Rx is fine just no wattage and no light. So far I've replaced tr45 which was burnt and split down the middle and r220 which was burnt. I also replaced the 2sc2166 driver and both 2sc1969 finals with two 2sc2312s. While i was there I replaced the 2sb754 with an...
One thing I've noticed too is that L20 is out of the pot way farther then I've ever had to set it to get the offset pll oscillator on freq and I've tried 4 different crystals and all 4 10.240 crystals at x1 are reading under 8.8xxx and I know 4 in a row wouldn't be bad so I'm not sure what to do...
I picked up a general Washington radio a twin radio to the general Lee 10 meter mobile. When I get new radios in I like to do receive and transmit alignments because I don't know whose been in them before and they're usually off some. The transmit is perfect in this radio I just can't align the...
I appreciate everyone's help but I've replaced the input and output caps with a 110pf and it fixed it. Someone put a 180pf and a 150pf in series and I believe that's what caused the weird standing wave problem. It now peaks at almost 350 watts at 60 watts of drive from a stryker 440 mobile and...
Yeah loosecannon someone has been in it before and changed them out. I'll do that whenever i get ready to play around with the different caps to change the impedance on the input and output and thanks for the info nomadradio. Does anyone know about how far i should go from the original output...
It's a little dirty and looks like someone replaced one of the transformer turns wire but that's about all I can see is different all diodes and caps seem to be ok.
It had a swing of about 175 before the swap now it's just under 100 watts with the 9530s. I think It is a cap tune issue. I've been in radios for a while now about 9 years but I'm not sure about how to check the VSWR on the input side. I'm used to working on tube amps but got tired of dealing...
Thanks Ranch55 I'll see if i can get my buddy's connex or stryker to see if the extra swing changes anything. I'm still not home but will be tonight with pics.
I ran it on everything I run my boomer 600HD on so it should be enough. I'm using a 104 amp hour marine battery and a deka dozer battery not sure the amp hour on it though but its as big as 2 and a half batterys with 6 amp charger short leads big wire. I run solar at my house so it stays charged...
Ranch55 I'll post pictures this evening when i get home and thanks for the info. Yes I've checked the 9530's they all checked out ok but I'm not sure what else to do.
I've got an amp in that had the original 4 erf7530 mosfet and we changed them out for the 4 erf9530 supposed drop in replacements. Before the swap the amp would output around 175 watts peak but would only dead key around 4 to 8 watts with a swing of 175. With the new erf9530 the dead key is...
