Carl had a 2970N2 doing 400 watts, so he says. Never went back in and heard his house went up in flames and closed the shop. i bet it was that 2970n2 doing 400 watts that set the house on fire.
Had 2 radios done there(29,148GTL). 29 is going good but the 148 is a mess. The sideband is all messed up and understandable. I think he turned a few to many pots. This was done about 7 months ago and I'm in AL and don't get back to my home town that often.
They have the trucks turned down(speed and horsepower) to where they are a hazard, why would they even bother turning on the radio. They only turn on when they come to a stop and want to know why.
I run a Ranger 2970N2 in my 379 Pete and works great. Have mine running thru a predator 10K and have had no issues with it. Do need to make sure that you have the antenna set up right with that radio. AM audio is loud with a road king mic and SSB has allowed me to talk all across this screwed...
OK, I have a Ranger 2970N2 that I got new and had it turned down to a 5 watt deadkey for the Texas Star that I have and have not put inline yet. Got to scratching my head and was wondering with all the swing the 2970 has, will the Texas Star last? Should I go with a Davemade 4 pill(not for...
Around here in north Alabama, it is not echo that is the problem, it is the idiots that can figure out how to turn on the radio and key the mic. I have never heard so many retards in my life that get on the radio and talk to themselves. I would rather listen to someone with a little echo than...
Looking at getting one of these and want to know who the best is to get it from (tune/price). Not so much the price but want it done right. Thanks.
Chuck
Now if there is severe weather around, the CB is turned off and the VHF is cranked up. Get weather warnings from the NWS and storm spotter info before the general public. It happened this past Friday with the tornado's in north AL. Was able to direct 2 other trucks away from the tornado's...
I have it in the truck but hardly ever turn it on. 160 meters up to 70 cm but always have the CB on with a lot of other people on their too. I am always in a hurry(nature of the job) and need the info from 19. I will turn it on if stopped for the night but usually I will go to the lower...
The problem nowadays is finding the chipswitch. If I remember, they stopped making them and when Doc did my 2510, I got one of the last chip's that he had. Not sure if he has found some or has someone making a clone for him. I think the 2600 has to have the chipswitch to convert to 11 meters...
