I use to run a Palomar TX 75 at my Base station with a 65 foot A-99 with no problems with my TV antenna about 50 feet away except a cheap 5 dollar alarm clock that my neighbor Had . I would ditch the X Force and go with a 25 year old Palomar or a Cobra 450 very clean amps. 8)
They still sell them after they get POP by the FCC. They make the money up in a couple of day's. One day the fines will build up and they will go out of business and another CB shop will take there place.
I am talking about the RED, Green, Blue etc... On the channel display, I use to have a pack of Radio Shack brand that was probably from the 70's early 1980's does anybody still sell them and what are they called? When I was a kid I used to take apart alarm clocks and change the display color...
That's what you call customer service. 8) I have one but without the NOAA weather feature. I am leaving it stock for now, too bad Ranger don't sell direct to the public. :(
My friend called me today while I was grocery shopping and said he hook up his base station and his wanting to know how do you read that Radio Shack meter you let me borrow "6 year's ago" I wounder what ever happen to my meter anyhow he brought it back.

I am hard on radios. I have never had a regular 40 channel CB Uniden or a Cobra blow up. It's the linear's and power supply that melts down first for me in the last 15 + years.
Thanks Rich. Also in the cardboard box i found a Archer project board model 277-111 digital frequency counter "6 digits" and a dual variable power supply 1.0 amp max. I like how the old stuff looks :D
My uncle or my dad built this in the early to mid 1970's. My uncle said it's for a oscilloscope just throw it away. I plugged it in and the light came on.
So what do I have here? Junk I am not going to throw it away. It's still look's new.
I think it has to do with the operators of the old radios are passing away like my dad " Flatire " last year. I still have some of his old equipment most of it does not work it just sits on the shelf like a trophy. :beer
Cobra 25 and Uniden 66 are about the same.
Cobra 29 LTD Classic and Uniden 78 XL are about the same.
Cobra 148 is a sideband radio.
All of the above are very good radios.
Cobra 150 defected junk.
Cobra 200 defected junk.
IMO
