    I have one of these hooked up to my Midland 79-290, I just opened up the back of the Mic and found 2 adjustment screws. I have not been able to locate anywere on the web what these adjustments are for. Any help will be great.

    wouldn't this have to be mounted up high? the dipole i mean. Thats like 22ft above my roof. The city I live in has all sorts of laws about antennas and stuff, I don't want to have to pull a permit it can get expensive around here.

    The ground rod was more for lightning than anything else. I know it probably wont be great but hopefully I can get out a few miles.

    OK should have been alittle more specific. I prefer trucker style but performance is more important. Lots of power was very vague, 50 to 150 should be more than enough. As far as the amp goes I dont want to go down that road at this time. I am using a Wilson 5000 Magnet mount for easy of removal...

    I'm looking for lots of power and extra channels. Must be a new radio please. It does not have to be CB specific it just has to be able to get the 40 cb channels. Forgive my ignorance on the subject I have never owed a non CB radio.

    Well I guess I had to leave some info out, I'de like a radio that will have about the same channels as the Midland when it's moded, which is about 6 bands I believe and SB. No amp for now so a radio that can be tuned up good would be preferred.
