I agree. I understand if you are having trouble hearing the person and want to move on nicely, but if you got a good hold on them, they aren't fading in or out, or there aren't any other stations walking on them, why not talk awhile? Heck move to another frequencey so you don't pile up the one...
I talked to a couple of stations yesterday, I wasn't home this morning though. I made a few adjustments to my setup so I'm ready when conditions get here. I hope to here some of you soon if your on 38lsb give 254 in WV a shout!
Conditions on 38lsb haven't been very good the past couple of days and I managed to only make a few contacts. This evening I turn on my radio to 38lsb and not one person is on it. I hope some good conditons get here soon, any one else agree?
I currently have a maco 5/8 antenna and it is a great antenna. I have talked all over the U.S. and Canada with it. The interceptor 10k is the finest ground plane out there period, but dollar for dollar the maco wins. If money isn't tight then the interceptor 10k would work wonderful. Also keep...
On GI joe's website it says a crystal must be installed to determine the frequency of operation. If I purchace it from there will they install the crystal for me?
I saw the ts 350hdv on copper electronics today for $199.00. But it says the frequency is 28-29.7mhz. Is this not converted or what. I think this amp would work great for me, but I was wondering am I going to notice a difference between the ts250 and 350 as far as increasing my signal on the...
Maybe I am wrong but I think I read somewhere the ts has to be converted for use on 11 meters. If I'm wrong correct me on that. Will the ts 350hdv handle 30 watts pep?
Which would be a better amp. I would be driving it at 2 watt dead key and between 25 and 30 watts swing. I would like to have a good sounding signal on am and ssb. What kind of power would I see out of these amps? I noticed the TNT 350 has a fan built in so thats a plus. What do you guys think?
I am so glad I started shooting skip on ssb. It opened up a whole new world to me and I love it. I don't have a real great setup yet so I hope to improve it soon and make many more contacts. I hope to talk to another continent if conditions are right.
I have made several contacts on 38lsb in the past couple of days here are just a few.

I would look at many different makes and models of a radio that fits your needs. Then look up each one on the internet and read reviews about it. Take your time and buy the right radio that fits your needs the first time. Hope this helped.
Everyones got to start somewhere. Maybe they haven't been on the air that much and are not familar with how to talk on a ham radio compared to a cb. If I were them, I would listen for a while and see how things are done before I talked so I wouldn't sound like a idoit.
