Explain the differences in moving 2ft

What frequency? On vhf and especially uhf a few feet can be the deciding factor on a signal path due to line of sight...

    RCI 2970 Discontinued?

They quit making the regular 2950cd a while back. Guess they burned through what inventory they had left on the higher power (more $) rigs and decided to pull the plug. That's a shame but it has lived a long life. 30+ years. I guess with the influx of Chinese stuff and continued QC issues this...

Lets logically end the LMR-400 debate.

Go for it...you may decide to put a commercial broadcast amplifier in line someday...:ROFLMAO:

Lets logically end the LMR-400 debate.

I would never waste my $ on hardline on anything under 50 mhz unless I had a ridiculously long run to my towers. I'm at around 100 ft total. 213 HF, lmr 400 6 meters, 1/2 inch hardline 144 beam. Lmr 400 2m/220/440 vertical and 7/8 hardline for 222,432,902 &1296 mhz. Lmr 600 flex for rotor loops...

    People getting over on techs...

Invest in the tamper proof seal stickers. The local shop 25 years ago had them. If you cut it between the case top on bottom..your baby. ..If you pealed it off it left a checker board pattern on the case. I bet that would slow this shit down considerably.

The first 2547 I went through, is now...

Need some tamper proof stickers for the case. "Warranty void if cut or removed" When trying to remove they separate into a checker board pattern. The really good shop we had around this area 25-30 yrs ago used them. Cut back on all the bullshit

TYT TH 9800 Quad Band Mobile

I don't have experience with the 9800 but ran a 7800 for a few years. I almost bought the 9800 but saw no need for FM only 10/6 meters. We have no repeaters locally on those bands and lf the bands are that open I have other radio options for FM work. I really like the yeasu knock off design of...

    Hissy fit. AM vs Ssb

I use the Zed all the time for looking up calls when I'm operating. It's very handy for beam heading. I also like knowing the air mile distance which is great especially with vhf/ uhf contacts. I periodically read the stories on the main page and check out the swap. I've never dove into the...

    Something Interesting

You hear the continuous shouting from the people about the truth but "surprisingly" never hear it reported by our "trusted" news sources or scrubbed from the internet as "misinformation". I was willing to walk from my career over the forced poison shots. I'm glad God granted me discernment to...

    MFJ to stop Building

I have a few MFJ items that seemed to do alright. Took 2 trys on the 259c analyzer but I got a good one now. Sad to see another American based business go under but yes QC was an issue that most likely contributed to the demise.

    Water in coax

When using coax seal I always back wrap a layer of tape around my connector first. Then seal, then another layer (sticky side down obviously) of quality black tape. This method keeps the connector clean and much easier to cut and remove when the time comes. Don't skimp on the tape...it's cheap...
