I'm a new ham and struggling to learn morse. Seems like more often than not I hear CW activity on 10 and no phone activity. I haven't mastered the code yet, I'm just starting out, so I may be hearing beacons, but it is activity when phone is dead.
I would want CW on a radio.
A full HF rig...
Neither is the AK-47. But I own a few of them and have sold my AR's. The AR is more accurate, but the AK is functionally a better weapon. I buy plenty from our nation. But some things are done better by others.
Most of my guns are U.S. made. My Glock is austrian and my favorite handgun. We...
A remote?
How about this. A new board. A nice looking face and display. The CRE-8900 is a nice looking radio. No chrome, no Big Betty Boob knobs. Save that production money. No echo, or beeps. Save that money too.
Use the money saved for selectable filters, or even DSP.
There is a market for...

Do the 2950 the 2970 the 257 and the Optima sell that poorly?
The Optima is a decent looking radio, but the 2950 and 2970 are fugly. My beloved 2510 is a fugly radio. The capabilities are what sell them.
2 meters or 70 cm band is where you would find help. But I would also carry a sat phone or something similar.
Hams put repeaters on mountain peaks all over the west, so chances of communicating through a repeater are better than relying on a cooperative ionosphere to help your signal on CB...
WD-40 leaves residue. The lubricating properties of it are not it's primary purpose. Water Displacement is what it was designed for.
Carry a can in your 4x4. Spray down ignition parts to keep water from providing a path to ground for the spark from the coils, or coil in older vehicles...
Perhaps on the Zed that will bring more money. The whole "It's never been dirtied up." thing that I experienced from an old Zedder on one.
I would expect in the open market it would need 11 meters to sell for more.
What's a 1975 Mustang II worth?
To a collector that car is worth more...
It really all depends on the buyer.
I'm a stubborn fan of the 2510, and have a small collection of them now. The best of the bunch I got from a ham. I had to show him my license before he would sell it to me. He bought it new, had chipswitched it, "for the features only," and claimed to never...
Cbradiomagazine review on the 980 mic:
"Before I go much further let's talk about the microphone. Compared to the radio it feels cheap and very plasticky in your hand. It's a noise-cancelling microphone but like most factory microphones it's lacking in its ability to produce good solid audio...
Tell ya what, ship that tax return to Doc, and I'll take that pesky 2510 off your hands. Nothing but trouble those radios. One of them dragged me down the dark path of RF addiction. Send it to me, I'll pay half the shipping and send you a fine Cobra 19 in return. That will save you from the hell...
This all happened 7 or 8 years ago and I've slept since then so the details are a bit foggy, but there was a similar thing that happened locally.
Two dealers, we'll call them Einstein and Hawking, were getting peoples addresses from mail they stole from mail boxes. They would then have their...
