I did dial back my mic gain and it didn't change anything, But I can turn it back more, I will try that again (or more rather). I do not have a powered mic, its pretty much a stock mic I think.

yeah I have heard pretty much nothing but good things about them so I am not disappointed about getting it. I just need to figure out a more long term goal for my base then I can work on going mobile. I don't care if my mobile is straight AM CB. but for my base I want all the bells and whistles.
