    i think have a good radio is a good start. but having a good tech is more important if you are going to tune the radio.i have only used three techs in 30yrs. but i used them for different reason. i used joe from j&s radio yrs ago he was good with alot of things. bill goode 4 my 2950,and we know...

    thats good info . i read something about that johnson tuner also but tuners are another subjects , but we can go there too. :lol: i like the heath 2040 and 2060, and the palstar at1500, but they are kinda of pricey feel free to add input, all are welcome.

    i have used the d-104 and it works good , but my choice would be the truner +3,or +2 they sound great and i have gotten nothing but geat reports while useing the +3 good luck and since you have the d104 use it. :D p.s.that was on the 2950

    what is required to talk on 10 meters

    as asw said a tech can only operate 28.000 -28.300 rtty and data.28.300-28.500,ssb phone(200 watts max) as per the arrl band plan. www.arrl.org on 10 meters. but vhf/uhf and 6 meters you get all modes.hope this helps good luck.

    i agree with HH hro sent me their new catalog and the price for a hustler 4btv was 138.00 when i drove to the the store it was 35.00 more they said we have a disclaimer about the price some where in the the catalog but the salesman could not show me where its at. seems i always pay more there...
