Why would you want to reduce your mod in an attempt to reduce background noise? I run a noise canceling mic with the radio's mic gain wide open and I can drive with the windows down with full mod. If I had to turn down my mic gain I'd be quieter and still have the same relative amount of road...

That's quite a bit cheaper than they were going for 10 years ago. $175 was about average back then. Is it worth it? Depends on how much you want it. I'd buy that for $100 before I'd buy this for $125.
