Well, I just "bit the bullet, pulled the trigger", on a new President Lincon ll V3. Ordered from Walcott. My only other order from them a while back was a 17" shaft extender. Now, I can't wait to get the radio and try it out. Hope it has clear modulation! That's my greatest concern.

Made 2 good contacts from here in South Central Missouri this morning to the 213 in Central California and the 549 in Washington State. On my Larsen NMO27B antenna. Coming back from the grocery store, channel 28.

Maybe it is because when I go around a curve I can see my skip shooter in the mirror leaning way out to the side. Thanks.

Another old thread but, the Ranger SRA-198 is the best mic I've used to date. It works and sounds great on my Galaxy DX 94HP.

Update. This new Hustler SSM-3 barrel spring is a disappointment. It's far to weak for my 7 ft skip shooter and the 102" SS Whip. Both flop around like crazy. I'll be going back to the old heavy duty barrel spring my Dad bought new in 1967. Even though it's 5/8 of an inch longer, it really does...

I just received my new Breedlove quick disconnect w/ SO-239 # 205 mount this morning and let me tell ya, this thing is nice! Built like a tank! And, extremely well machined. In every possible way this is the best quick disconnect I've ever seen. It looks extremely strong. I will be trying it out...
