I have the older version 148GTl an i love it! It is set at 2w dk a swing to bout 12-15w. I run it into a klv 350 an man does it sound so sweet! I have never gotten any bad reports on AM or SSB. Mind you that it is set up as a base unit with a d-104 desk mic attached :D I agree with everyone...

I LOVE my 148GTL :D Has been used as a base radio w/D104 fer the last 6 months an have had awsome reports on both AM an SSB. Oh yeah, tiz the older model GTL :D

well if they goin fer those kinda prices i need to put my royce 639 ssb mobile on there :lol: nice clean rig an works awsome...hmmmmm just maybe lmaooo

sometimes, just a jumper change will do the trick. try the 6 an a 9 an go from there. I have had to do that. Just my .02

Damn! Every shop I called told me they either never seen one or just flat refuse to work on it...lol..not worth the money right now to ship it anywhere i guess...lol..someday it will wurk again, just not anytime soon..lmaooo

Thanks for that info Tony! That was the other problem I was thinkin of. God knows who tried wirin a mic to it before I got it :( . I have called several radio shops an they keep tellin me the same thing, GOOD LUCK! Hopefully one day i will figure it out :) NowTony, is yours doin the same thing...

That is the problem I am having. When u key up or cross the pins on radio mic plug to get key up, the radio goes blank. loose all display an functions. unkey or uncross wires it comes back to normal like nuthin ever happened. I am thinkin regulator also, but someone said to hook it up to 12v an...

when u cross pins 3 an 5 for tx the display blanks out an when u uncross em it comes back like nuthin ever happened. Pin 6 was NEVER crossed, well not by me anyways. I was hoping it was the PS or something easy, but i have a feeling it aint nuthin easy...lol

I beginning to wonder if it aint in the speech processor or microprcessor, which r prolly the same tihng...lol I really would like tio get it up an goin but looks like it gonna be awhile...grrrrrrrr

OK I posted about the problem i had with it an someone said hook it to a 12v PS an it will solve my problem...well hooked it up to 12v PS an still does the same damn thing....grrrr.....how hard is it to change a PS? any info would greatly be appreciated!

Ok...thought bout that but, I DO NOT have any wire with a fricken tiny plug like that! And i cant figure out which is neg an which is pos..someone please let me know and i will try that.Hopefully it does the trick :D

u can change the value of the resistor to change tone an length of r beep. just cant remember which to change it with...sorry

I have 1 an it's a POS!!! :evil: I cant figure out why when u hook mic to it an key down an it goes blank. unkey an the display comes back. Even if u cross pins 3 an 5 which would be TX it does the same damn thing! And I did NOT cross pin 6 with any othre pin. I would really like to figure it...

dx I made a fw contacts to CA today from here in Michigan! even talked to cdx-339 jeff. had to qsy to .375 but man we had a qso fer at least 10 minutes! Allen
