Well my Bearcat 20/20 arrived today and I had a power code that fit perfectly but the antenna was cut off at the top of the scanner. Finally got the cover off and tried one of at least 8 different antenna's that I have here and none of them fit. There is a antenna jack in the rear and I know I...
It doesn't even have a power cord or an antenna. I can correct those problems quite easily though. One more toy to play with. I love it.
Have a blessed day,
Harold
Well Towerdog I bid $9.99 on this scanner and guess what happened after 5 days....

As a radio operator for 10 of the 20 years I spent in the armed forces I had access to a receiver that covered 121.5 Mhz. I was talking to a ham friend the other night and he asked me if I had a receiver that covered it. I don't and wondered if others on this forum does have. I have checked...
My computer is on the bottom shelf of my computer desk, the monitor is sitting beside my IC-718 on the top shelf. They both put out lot's of static. Even picking up my keyboard and moving it around will create a slightly different noise level. When I'm listening to SSB off goes the computer but...
Thanks for the kind words.....I just worked 4 states on 20M USB but haven't tried PSK31 yet. All I have is a vertical 5BTV antenna and don't expect much from it since half of it is below the roof line of my home. lol Restrictions are keeping it there too.

QWAZYONE....Yep, I think you hit the nail right on the head. I need that CI-V cable. I'll look on the internet for one. Been a busy day for me and I finally made it back home. Left this morning for Gainesville for their hamfest and license exam at 1PM. I can honestly say that I have never seen...
Just tried out Airlink Express and it works as good as Digipan, perfectly. That is to say I can transmit as well as receive. I have one (1) 13 pin plug coming from the back of my IC-718. It goes to my BuxxCom which in turn goes to my computer.
Now that I am not sure of. I am using Comm Port 3...
From what I have learned thru all my experiments it is the OS of my computer that is causing the problem. I really don't wish to uninstall Vista and put XP back on. I have Digipan working perfectly and i'm just going to use that program. Now im wondering if others use HRD on their Vista machine...
Yes my radio is on before I connect to HRD. I am using BUX COMM to connect to the computer. Digipan works perfectly using this setup but i can't get HRD to connect.
I clicked on HELP in HRD and it took me to a web site and I downloaded the latest drivers for it.
I'll try again tomorrow. I...
I can't use it yet since i am still a Tech. but this coming Saturday which is just 3 days from now I hope to be able to try out BPSK31. I have enjoyed copying it for some time now. I have downloaded a number of programs such as MMTTY, Digipan, MultiPSK, etc. From what I can figure out by reading...
Your right Beetle. 28.0 to 28.5 and I never even noticed it on the chart. Nothing on there right now but I'll keep checking. I'm going to hang out on 28.350 this evening though.
Thank you,
Harold
N3IBX...I just looked up your call sign on qrz.com. That's not my old BC-610 you sitting in front of is it? lol Thats the transmitter we used in Metz France back in 1954 to 1957 while I was in the Signal Corps.
Anyway....I just opened up my unit and see that I too need to replace the Dry...
Being a Technician I can't work 12M or any other for that matter but I can listen in on conversations though and last night, 21 April 2011, 12 Meters was wide open here in Ocala, FL. The QRM and QRN was just about nill. It was so hard to just listen and not be able to contact anyone. Taking my...
Hi Guys,
It just arrived in my mail box yesterday. It is in wonderful condition too. I haven't a clue of how to use it on but it's going to be fun to experiment with. I love old radio stuff regardless of what it is. I downloaded the Operators Manual but that is more of a how to put it...
