so a 40 foot pipe looks better than a 40 foot tower,, I still see disaster with a 40 foot pipe , no guy wires and a 24 foot antenna on top of that with 4 ground plane radials hanging off it,, but if you feel its safe, knock yourself out and go for it

40' of pipe in the air sounds like disaster,, even if you guy wire it,, search the area for towers with old beat up tv antennas on them that probly are not being used any more and you can probly find a couple for free if you take them down

no don't do that,, you cant put full power output from the radio into the frequency counter,,, there are other test points in the radio that you can connect directly to your frequency counter if you have the correct probes for your counter while doing an actual radio alignment but if your trying...

I have one like this,, basically you take a uhf T-adapter and remove the center pin and screw a barrel adapter into it,, then one end of the T can go to your radio with a short jumper coax and a dummy load can screw into the other end of the T ,, and a coax can connect the barrel connector end...

Don't do it that way! make a rf sampler and put it inline with a dummy load

I just got one of the HM-219 mics last week, been using it on the optima and my other icom rigs and it is a great mic,, I would say a touch better than the original japan hm-36 mics,, at least there is a new mic other than the Chinese hm-36 versions,,, all the japan HM-36 mics I have now...

I don't think it works that way,,, I had a 2950 dx3 and would leave it un-powered for days at a time and it never lost its memory/settings

that sucks, I made many purchases from them, so nice having them close, next day delivery, and never a question with warranty items they would ship another item out right away

your concrete job looks a little SKETCHY,,,, should have used a regular house bracket, that would have moved the tower out about 8-12" from the house then you could have been centered in your concrete hole

I don't think they can deny warranty work due to mars mod, I once sent in an icom 7200 for warranty and they never said a word about the mars mod,,,, now if you screw up your radio doing the mod then your SOL
