UNBOXING Grazioli G-MAX Curly Collinear 27 Mhz

Ahh, yes, I like a good pair of Italian shoes. I prefer beans and beef on my tortillas.

UNBOXING Grazioli G-MAX Curly Collinear 27 Mhz

Does anyone unbox it in English? I haven't used Italian in nearly 66 years... oh, wait, that's my age.

Strips of Spa Hose from Home Depot (sells by the foot) and hot glue. It's the K1JJ I am thinking to do. Because I only have 100w I figure the copper wire will work for me instead of tubing.

Home Building a Homebrew Manual Tuner

I have finally began putting together my manual tuner. I rolled those two inductors about 3 years ago. I got busy, and sidetracked. Now, I've just mounted them on the board. I know, primitive, but what else do I do... What I will likely need is some of you who've made your own to offer tips...

    Homebrew Co-phased Ground Plane Antennas

That's it. Gotta hand it to him. The cans-antenna was a lotta work, and pretty cool.

    Homebrew Co-phased Ground Plane Antennas

I don't know... My chicken wire 11m 1/4 GP seemed to be the uncontested winner in one of these build offs until the other fellow screwed together his 1/4 GP from beer cans. It seems the popularity of beer over chickens took the win away from me. It felt like a crappy sudden death NFL overtime...

    Base Antenna

As for which antenna is better, it's like girlfriends, the current one is always the best. In most, if not all antenna setups it has much more to do with the installation than the particular antenna itself.

    Base Antenna

Per Tom Rouch, W8JI This is the link to the 5/8th wave article we were all discussing. As I recall, the disputed statements in the article were: 1.) Gain of a 5/8th wave over a quarter waves is not 4dB. Without an infinite flat ground plane at antenna base height, like a sheet, a 5/8th...

    Home Vertical fan dipole.

    Before my brand new NanoVNA-H4 broke off CH0 SMA terminal from the board I managed to get a SWR reading from the radio shack end of the coax for the fan dipole. 144 ------------- 1.1 148 -------------- 1.12 222 --------------- 1.59 225 ‐--------------- 1.64 420 ----------------- 1.11 450...

Neither is there a ton of traffic here, but a local repeater just went up, and one or two more are planned in the area. One of them is supposed to get us into a linked system for broader interstate comm. Just following the fun.

    Wild & Crazy Idea

Actually, the radios do not replace a band with 11m, they are expanded to include 11m. I would get an expandable 10m radio.

    NanoVNA-H4

I have ordered this test kit so as to use one of the SMA terminals as a replacement for the broken one on my VNA. I have a friend who may be able to restore it.

    NanoVNA-H4

I suggest if anyone buys one they should add some silicone between the SMA connectors and the VNA body. Mine broke just trying to finger tighten the SMA nut onto the connector. The spacing is too close and the connector being unsupported by anything but surface mount type solder joints makes...

    NanoVNA-H4

My NanoVNA-H4 experience has come to an abrupt end. The thing is too fragile. The least amount of pressure on the SMA connectors and they tear off the board. Now the terminal itself is broken and I lack the skillset to make a repair. Even if I had the skills one of 4 solder points on the...

    NanoVNA-H4

:LOL: If an analyzer that covered 160m - 70cm didn't cost so much I would have gladly bought one instead of the nanovna. When the things cost as much as your radio and antenna system combined that's just too expensive.

    NanoVNA-H4

I have at this point gotten it calibrated, set it to read SWR, and checked every antenna system I have from the shack. What I haven't figured out is whether it's possible to limit the display to showing info/traces for SWR, Resistance, and Reactance only, and how to do it.
