Well. After setting it up this afternoon. U have a 3+ reading in the red on the DSB dipole and for whatever reason a reading 1.5 on the Solarcon A99 which is normally at 1-1.1

Good to know. So I should be able to pick this stuff up at a hardware store or walmart eh? Does it require any sort of UV protection? Thoughts comparisons? Local vs DX? Gonna be up against an Antron99 running verticle and the dipole horizontally running east west.

Ok so im hoping to get my double spooky bazooka dipole up sometime in the next week or so. Im gonna be installing it between two chimneys. They're 18 ft apart and the antenna is 17 ft long. So it just fits. What can you suggest to use to tie around the chimney to hold the dipole in place?

Those storms are what ripped through The Ottawa Valley here. Pembroke and Petawawa got hit hard. Humidity finally broke on Friday after they went through. Last 3 days have been the first with little humidity in about 3 almost 4 weeks here.

It'll be interesting to see how well it works. Im content with my antron but when I hook it up to the antenna switch then thats when I'll see the big difference. Im not much about talking locally but I do like to dx. Thats why im intrigued to try this out. I've never used a dipole before either.

I already have an Antron 99 up and it does fairly well so far for dx'ing. It'll be interesting to see the difference in the two. By using a dual antenna switch. I bought one for a friend of mine who is a ham and we're gonna test it out sometime too on the 10 meter band as well.

Your thoughts on these simple dipoles. I have one that im gonna setup in a few weeks. Ive watched a few YouTube videos on them and they look like they work quite well. Reasonably priced on eBay as well. Gonna more then likely have mine attached between two chimneys on my roof about 22 ft off...

Went down to the radio room. Turned it on and man oh man..everyone booming in real good. 1:30 am eastern time. Made some excellent AM contacts in such a short time... Wild Bill and Easy Money in TN on ch. 21. And 225 I believe it was on channel 40 from Kentucky.

I used to like back in the days going back now 15-20 years ago when I would be able to get into Manitoba and the east coast of canada. Those are much different conditions then what is the norm for around here.
