I bought what I thought was a 2 meter 5/8 wave antenna made by workman. It is called the slim line 58. It turns out that it has an SWR of 1.9-2.1:1 and impedance of around 150 ohms at 144 MHz. I tuned the antenna analyzer to 6 meter and it showed an SWR of 1.2-1.5:1 and impedance of 50 ohms...
On my 14th day of waiting. The FCC database is down till monday morning. I think it will be KC0Z**. The latest to show on the DBase are Feb 23 07. I personally can't wait. I have my FT2800M hooked up and ready to go. Got 34 out of 35 right.
Talked on MARS a few times to my mom from Germany. Had to be on a waiting list and stay by the company floor phone till they rang me. It was free though and I got to talk to my mommy.

fixed my baby. The cb shop at the pilot in Indianapolis is very good. talked to him and he said he has worded with the fet finals. He said he usually gets 50 watts or more out of cobras.
Either I did something wrong or the instructions I was given were bogus. Didn't smoke it though. I am going to take it to a cb shop and see if they know what I did and can either do the mod right or put it back the way it was.
Would anyone have a way to cut out the static and still pick up incoming talk? The squelch on CB's sux. It just can't tell the difference between talk and noise.
If you are talking about the standard CB Tricks mod, it will only give you between 15 and 25 watts without the limiter clipped. According to the tech that I got this mod from it will increase the power to around 50 watts maybe more with the 4.7K resistor added.
I already did the CB tricks mod. I am waiting on parts to complete the mod. I would like to know how to do a down and dirty peak and tune so that I don't have to take it to a CB shop.
The next radio I do it on, I will take photos.
After I posted, I found a spec sheet of sorts for the ERF 2030 and the legs are definitely gate drain and source. Is base another name for the gate leg? Until I get confirmation on the jumper from the 1230 to the 2030 I am going to leave that out.
When looking at the front, the three legs of the ERF 2030 are, from left to right; gate, drain and source. I don't know what the CB repair guy meant by "the base leg" please help me out on this. which leg would I jump to the positive of the EN 1230?
So here is the mod.
Still I don't know about the jumper from ERF 2030 to EN 1230. I was looking at my notes and I think he said from the base leg of the final to the positive side of the EN 1230 Should I just leave this out? Also, I changed the 2 33pf caps to 1 68pf cap for simplicity.
Please...
So will the mod that I mentioned fly or will it smoke my radio?
The only thing I am worried about is the jumper from the ERF 2030 to the EN 1230 I think he said base leg but he might have said gate leg.
I was talking to a CB repair guy in Utah and this is his mod for the 2030. He says it will let a radio bark.
