HomerBB,
I read that your the Macgyver of antenna's.
Do you think a 11m vertical 1/4 antenna will perform better than a 1/2 wave, 5/8 wave, sloper, extended double zepp, but not a inverted v if its mounted high. I live in a hoa development facility surrounded by mountains and not able to put...
HomerBB,
11m 1/4 wave vertical gp are good antennas.
I used a 106' stainless whip mounted on the roof my car in the early 2000's and it has a awesome signal. Swr of 1.0.1 was achieved from 26.965mHz-27.405mHz. One of my favorite place to park was underneath a old oak tree sitting on top of a...
HomerBB,
I decided not to build the 11m extended double zepp inverted v due not wanting to break the element that will be slanted down. Instead I build a 11m 5/8 vertical wire dipole antenna instead because I can put it up higher. So far its working spectacularly awesome. I have a 1.0.1 swr on...
I have been thinking about making a 11m extended double zepp inverted v wire antenna but there isn't alot of data on the web about it.
All I know is that if its sides are bent down 45 degrees or greater it will have a good 50 ohm match with a swr 1.1 and is horizontally omnidirectional. If wind...
Skywave propagation conditions weren't all that good but I was able to have qso's with operator's in Washington State, Colorado, Montana, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Texas.
Skywave propagation conditions have been spectacular today with the homemade ESZ.
I was able have qso's with operator's in
WashingtonState/Oregon/Wyoming/Utah/
Colorado/Montana/Nevada/Mexico with ease.
Looking forward to seeing how well my
66' half delta loop/sloper 12g wire antenna performs...
My ESZ is performing very well. Had a little bit of skywave propagation conditions yesterday morning but it wasn't strong enough to get a solid qso. Hopefully today I might have better luck.
Groundwave propagation conditions are without a doubt spectacular. Was told I sound very loud/clear. Now...
I chose the ESZ instead of J-Pole because its shorter and can be installed higher. The J-Pole is around 25' which for me would be too long.
Decided to put it on the circuit after completing a test drive which produced a swr under<1.1.1 on the frequencies that I qso on. Hopefully skywave...
I have a feeling that my new antenna is going to work like crazy too. In my first test drive it was up only 36' at the base and I had a qso with a truck driver 93.6 miles away with a mountain between us. Hopefully when I finished with the computer modeling it will do alot better then before when...
When I had my EDZ up it worked spectacular on am/ssb on both skywave/groundwave.
The only problem I had was high winds which kept it grounded. It doesn't have a wide beam width like a halfwave dipole but its gets out.
I built it just because I wanted to see if it was any good which it was but...
My new antenna has been designed for better efficiency/reliability/performance and due to its size. I will be able to mount it more higher than the previous one.
From research/experiments/testing in my case having a bigger dipole isn't better a smaller version will do alot more on...
I'm happy for you keep me posted. It's a beastly antenna when I had it up but due to the high winds here I decided to take it down and build something more suitable for my area. It basically the same design with awesome performance/reliability/efficiency. Just have to do some more computer...
The extended double zepp is a awesome antenna but due were I live I can't keep it up because of the high winds I have in my area. When it was up it performs great on groundwave/skywave propagation conditions. It was and still is a beastly antenna but not for me at this time.
I decided to embark...
Ex49north7,
Here's the picture you requested but due to living in a area infested with high winds I decided to embark on another wire antenna project which I'm currently trying to complete. Hopefully after I'm finish with computer modeling/testing I will post a picture soon. This has been...
