Hmm, now your last picture has me thinking. Does that diagram take into account all three positions of the switch in regards to the entire Frequency Mod? Because instead of removing the whole front I could just as easily manipulate the circuit where it enters the Main Board to create the same...
Haha ok. Well then that settles it. Two SPST switches will be installed for this mod! Thanks guys for the advice and tips! I have years of experience with electronics but only recently have started messing with the electronic modding side of CBs so still a bit of a beginner at this. Always good...
Sonoma, with what you said with your personal Radio, how did you handle the position of the switch then in terms of its position within the circuit. For example: using the tone switch....how is the radio recognizing NOW what position to keep that circuit in?
Ok thanks Sonoma. I was kinda worried about that. My DX949 uses the NB switch but like you said...it uses a kit..The Viagra B board. Right now ive settled on using the NB switch and the PA switch. But i need a little more info.
Ok with the noiseblanker switch....i always leave it in the off...
Im currently working on adding in some extra channels on a Dx-959 using the good 'ole P5 and P6 method. I dont wanna hack up the outter portion of this radio as it is brand new and is still all shiny and pretty haha. So instead of using two switches mounted on some random part of the chassis as...
So awhile back I posted a number of problems I was having with this Galaxy Dx 949. Finally found out that indeed my driver was blown but final was still working fine. Nonetheless I decided to just replace both. Ordered up some new IRF520's and installed them last night.
Now the weird stuff...
Wow I stepped away from this discussion to do some remodeling on the shop and didnt realize so much had been said. Looks like I have some awesome different things to try.
While I have your attention and such great commentary....I am looking to buy a 50MHz oscilloscope for factory resetting...
Yea Sonoma someone else mentioned the lescomm kit to me locally while chatting on the rig. Im less inclined to buy things then I am to either find someone elses homebrew method or create my own. I own an electronics business so I have access to literally endless amounts of any kind of components...
Yea 27.425 is important and 27.555 is important to me. Ive made contact on many others as well but those are my favs. I dont really care about going into the 28,xxx or below channel 1. I already have an old Tube Silitronix 1011D that I sit back and listen to 10 meter on when im bored. Just care...
I dont really care about any of the LOW channels. Im more concerned about being about to get 41-55 for sure. 42 is used alot in my area when 38 is out of control. And i have a Imax 2000 whose tip is 75 feet in the air so I am able to shoot skip conditions quite often overseas on the extra...
Thank you for that Radio Tech. Sadly it looks like the only way i will be able to get channel 42 out of the mods for my radio is to do the 6 position Rotary switch
When i click on the link you left me it shows in bottom right that it is Connecting to the site....after about 15 secs says: The connection has timed out

Looking for a good channel mod for my old Uniden Washington with the 8719 PLL. Standard PC-385 Board. I recently added in a 3 Switch channel mode to a Grant XL that went super smooth but have been unable to find out if I can use this exact method on my Washington.
Also, I have extra 11.1758...
Thank you. I hate asking questions like that but did some google searching and was unable to find anything regarding the TO-220 part. Wanted to make sure the right part came this time ;)
Thanks for the info. Ok, im trying to find the same pieces or buyer that i got these from and looks like he doesnt have any IRF520s left. All i am able to find now are IRF520 TO-220. Are these the same that the radio needs or something different?
By not work properly can you explain? From my understanding the only difference between the two is one is a 10amp drain and one is a 30amp. Is there a work around to make it work. If one was to put it in the radio would it just NOT work or what would happen?
