    Thanks, I am finding I have a strong distaste for color displays on the Chinese stuff as I have yet to see one that you can easily read in daylight. Currently, I have 17 different HTs so it's not a single manufacturer issue (yes it probably is in reality).

    Based on the photos here the display looks very dim like the typical Baofeng ones. Is it that dim? The mic location is a stupid move on there part. At $75 it seems to be over priced, do you have that feeling as well?

    Never said it didn't work, I have run FM on 10 many times. Its cute on 11 meters because its new and a lot of ops have never used it and know very little about it.

    Maybe but honestly FM is cute on 11 meters but SSB is in my opinion still the most useful. If they want to run AM get a 29..:-)

    At $589 its in my opinion a complete waste of money. They are much better radios that will run circles around this one. One that comes to mind is the ICOM 718.

    I have a couple of Anytone radios, one uhf and the other vhf (1.25cm). They both work great but honestly the build quality is nowhere near the big three (Icom, Yaesu, and Kenwood)

    I think that GMRS is becoming popular because radios have become more plentiful and the FCC lowered the cost of the license. I always thought that $75 was silly.
