    NanoVNA-H4

I have ordered this test kit so as to use one of the SMA terminals as a replacement for the broken one on my VNA. I have a friend who may be able to restore it.

    NanoVNA-H4

I suggest if anyone buys one they should add some silicone between the SMA connectors and the VNA body. Mine broke just trying to finger tighten the SMA nut onto the connector. The spacing is too close and the connector being unsupported by anything but surface mount type solder joints makes...

    NanoVNA-H4

My NanoVNA-H4 experience has come to an abrupt end. The thing is too fragile. The least amount of pressure on the SMA connectors and they tear off the board. Now the terminal itself is broken and I lack the skillset to make a repair. Even if I had the skills one of 4 solder points on the...

    NanoVNA-H4

:LOL: If an analyzer that covered 160m - 70cm didn't cost so much I would have gladly bought one instead of the nanovna. When the things cost as much as your radio and antenna system combined that's just too expensive.

    NanoVNA-H4

I have at this point gotten it calibrated, set it to read SWR, and checked every antenna system I have from the shack. What I haven't figured out is whether it's possible to limit the display to showing info/traces for SWR, Resistance, and Reactance only, and how to do it.

    NanoVNA-H4

I got a little bitty nanovna a while back and didn't like it. I fussed about it and gave it away to someone who uses it. Now, I'm trying again with a newer version 4" screen model. I may need help...

    Home Vertical fan dipole.

Needed a 220Mhz antenna. So I added it to my 2m/70cm fan dipole. Now it is a 144/220/440 vertical fan dipole. Working okay. Yes, it isn't a 17' tall high gain vertical. It does get me into local repeaters and local rag chews. I also bought the tri-band Btech UV25×4 mobile to use as the base...

Is pasta as important as toilet paper now?

It's according to which side of a good #2 you're on which is more important.

Taking a Break from Ham Radio

Waiting for conditions to get wide open to finalize my thoughts on ham radio, but so far it hasn't lived up to 11m for me. The nearest to it is actually VHF/UHF in terms of local radio fun. On HF folks seem so desperate for that DX contact, and dropping way too difficult to copy or remember...

Home Homebrew 1/4 Wave 10 Meter Ground Plane

Wouldn't want to throw any gas on a fire, but my opinion of single radial 1/4 wave GP is that it is a simple vertical dipole, is not a 1/4 GP, but a 1/2 wave, and should work as well as any good dipole.
