You sound like the same shape I'm in. I'm getting sick of winterizing. I have to dig the snow blower out of storage today because they are talking a polar vortex for Monday and Tuesday with a possibility of a little snow. I have 1 upstairs coal stove burning now and I'll start the cellar one...
Around here anyway it seems like 39 and 40 especially aren't used as much. And I never hear much on 34 and just a little on 35 sometimes, of course we are talking lsb of coarse. Of coarse I'm in this stinking valley so my situation could be different than others.
I was on a 4 yr hitch myself but I got a 4 month early out to go back to school because I guess they figured they used me all they could for playing their war game. They wanted me to re-enlist but I made the mistake of saying no. I should have stayed in for 20 yrs. because I did well but I...
Thank you for your service and glad you made it back walking erect. I served a year with the Air Force over there in Thailand fighting what they called The Secret War. Laos and Ho Chi Minh Trail related. I hope you didn't get exposed to Agent Orange.

This is the one I bought back in 2023 from Amazon and it was $138 bucks so the price has jumped up in 2 years. They aren't bashful about giving it to you in the shorts ! Thank you Nomadradio
I let my Galaxy 2547 run today and it was a little bit later starting with the DX but as I was filling my outside cellar-way with coal I could hear it pumping out DX. That's the most talking that radio has done since I bought it 4-5 years ago and sounding good. Maybe by the end of the week...
Some times when your younger you don't know you will take that much interest in radio. Most don't have a crystal ball to look into. So for me it will stay a fun hobby.
I'm sure it is a good piece of equipment and worth it if you intend on making money repairing radios, but hard for a small guy to cough up when your just getting started. At 75 YO I'll just lick my wounds and think about what I should have done when I was younger and planning for retirement.
I've left a radio running all day in the radio room but had too much on the list to set down but every time I come in the house there was DX going on and it is still happening at 5:38 PM. Not bad for a day that was suppose to only be fair. Maybe if I worked myself sore for tomorrow I'll have a...
Just a brief look at that instrument looks like 2-3 thousand dollars. That will separate the men from the boys ! LOL I think I pooped my knickers ! LOL I think I could buy a good radio cheaper. HAHA
Wish I could say the same. I heard some stations for a bit setting at my base but couldn't seem to connect. Maybe it wasn't my time but I did notice some how my echo was turned on and maybe others didn't want to connect with the idiot and when I discovered it the DX seem to fad after I turned...
We all have to start somewhere and elaborate shop equipment is pricey. Buy yourself a good modern radio to talk and receive on and then you can experiment on your old radio with your Dosy. I have 3 Dosy meters and have made a lot of adjustment with them and haven't screwed up a radio yet but I...
The solar site said conditions would be poor for 10-12 meters today but I've heard yakking the few times I could spare for radio. But the last 3 days been devoted to a new furnace install and fall clean up. I am getting excited with the DX activity and can't wait to set on my Butt ! LOL
Was busy most of the day so not much time for radio but early evening on the way to my grand-daughters volleyball game I heard some good sound coming out of that Q6 Pro 35-38 lsb and laugh-ted because today was suppose to be fair.
That I couldn't say at this point because I just received it this afternoon and haven't ventured down that road. I'd probably worry about messing up my Q6 Pro. I hope someone has more Balls then I have ! LOL
I received my new Digimic today and want to clear up some misinformation I read somewhere about the Up & Down buttons not controlling the channels. Those buttons are Duel function for Channels & Noise Canceling Level. There is a button in the middle of them you push and hold to switch into the...
The solar site has said 10-12 meter dx only fair the past couple days but been busy with winter & hunting prep work anyway. I'll bet tomorrow because it is the weekend and I'm off hunting the solar site will say 10-12 meter dx is good. LOL OH Well after next week my outside prep work should...
