Called CQ on 28.385 a couple of times in the past hour. Taiwan and California stations calling back with 59 reports. Life is great.

I use a simple AM radio to track noise. I know you have underground utilities but it is still possible that an above ground transformer is spewing noise from a loose connection. That and solar panels are what I would look for as I walked around with the radio.

For my 20M and 15M moxons I used painters poles that I get at the local hardware store.

F150, 2001. Spent a bunch of time installing radios, antennas, GPS, ground strap, HF antennas, 198k miles. Lots of spare parts available and it runs fine. If someone is telling you to buy new because you have an old truck it is probably because they are idiots.
