That's a pretty cool radio stand, but the included PSU is only rated to 12.5A. The AT-6666PRO is fused at 15A, and will draw at least 10A on SSB peaks. For the PRO, I would want a supply with more headroom personally.
FYI and caution - the information and some of the parameters that were...
Real radio operators will be using the VFO mode for HAM use. ;)
(Push and HOLD the "BAND" key to switch between VFO and CH modes).
FYI - If you set the microphone "PF" key to the "CH.PUSH" option, then full control of the VFO is able to be done with the microphone keys, and it's is an...
One of the things Scott's Radios does, is IMPROVE on the published specs in many areas. The main item is often the IMD/TOI tests, where he aligns to reduce the third order IMD/TOI products significantly - meaning a very clean signal with minimal "splatter" on adjacent channels. The radios are...
If the vendor is who I think it is, then you should have contacted him in the first instance, and sent it to him in the first instance, for inspection - and not someone else. He is the best in the business and will do everything possible to help.
FYI - The fault you are describing can't be...
Potentially VCO IC failure, or something around that area. If it was alive, you could easily sniff the oscillators (eg, 10.625, and also VFO Freq + 10.625) with a SA. I have not seen this failure on these before. Any chance it was zapped in a storm?
FYI, there has been over 18 months of detailed testing and multiple hardware and firmware revisions done on the PRO. No other radio of this kind has had so much pre-production testing time and engineering effort put in (it's been a huge project). When you get a PRO, you are not the guinea pig...
Yes it supports 15m in expanded mode. Note, 15m is a "gift" band, the performance on 15m is not as good as the bands the radio is designed for (it will have lower TX power and reduced RX sensitivity). However 15m still works OK and is a great option to have.
There is actually a reasonably large demand, and the rumors of a new radio in the near future are great news for the hardcore (crazy?) people like me who want one!

AT-5555Nii wins over the original AT-6666 performance in all areas, assuming you don't mind the size difference.
The new AT-6666 PRO has stability and performance that is at least equal to, or better than the AT-5555Nii. Both are great radios.
FYI, the new AT-6666 PRO has an improved VOX that...
@Eldorado828 You will see an updated AnyTone AT-5555Nii short case radio very soon (it's the 'same' radio as this), and these will replace the older models.
@Wire Weasel yes, these radios have a VHF WX RX, with a VHF VFO mode, for FM RX between 136-174MHz. They have many updates over the...
That will do it (a note to anyone doing this: make sure you use caps suitable to handle the speaker volume levels (peak voltages) if you put them directly across the speaker). I like to add my filter cap across the input to the audio amp, but either way you go, it will help a lot.

I was in the right place at the right time a couple of week ago, I worked Dave VK0DS on 10m SSB, I was using a barefoot AT-5555Nii with a 1/2 wave vertical, 57 both ways. He was calling CQ with no takers. (It's not very hard to work VK0 from the VK mainland though.)
It was poor WX with -40C at...
They are all mostly based on the same Ranger PCB's and circuits that have been around for decades, so mods exist for just about everything...
Personally, the only things I like to do them is a good alignment, and an unlocked clarifier (for controlling the inevitable Ranger SSB drift). And...
FYI - Scott's Radios (and others) on YouTube have plenty of videos showing the ARES 2 waveforms and alignment (carrier down to 1 watt). A very clean 100% AM modulation is what you will see. The AM performance is excellent, but only up to 100%. Anything over 100%, or use of the firmware "NPC"...
