My brother is getting back into the CB deal. He just got a Bearcat 980SSB from Walmart DOT COM site. Figured it would have come bone stock but it does 20-25 on AM and up to 20W on SSB with 12.5V supply so its likely not bone stock. Anyway, I have not bought a vertical CB antenna in over 2...
I know what you mean. I normally only get to have a real conversation early in them morning between 5-7AM. Not long after that its just how you explained. during the day I only have long QSO's on 40 or 80 meter, sometimes 160 meter.

Yes, just have my analyzer connected to it. No need to put a radio on it until the antenna is right. Its an air variable like out of a Ham tube amp. Use that then measure its capacitance so its quicker with the vacuum variable. Air is just for tunning with the analyzer, Rig Expert AA-650 ZOOM.
Awesome!!!! I thought mine needed to be closer to the tin roof and not 12 inches away. I have not got to revisit this yet as I had some amps that came in for repair but I will get back to it and let y'all know. Thank you shockwave for this info, that helps for sure. I have the Rig expert AA-650...
