Woody 202 i have not found any information even on how to change bulbs but took face off and seen more than i wanted to do right now, I just shine a light for right now till i get more information.
I took radio apart and checked all i could check but there was a board not completely seated and pushed it in very little bit. Next thing i did was accidentally dropped radio but i swear it seems to be working way better not drifting as much and now usable. The frequency lights still out but...
Well I just passed the test for my Technician License last week and I bought a Icom 737 and just my luck it does not work right on SSB. When on SSB it will act like frequency is jumping. When I tune everyone in with rit and pbt till they are clear after a few transmits people will go micky mouse...
nomadradio I checked SWR and it was ok. I ended up putting a 33 ohm resistor between relay and keying transistor board and also doubled 2n3904 transistors and so far problem solved.
I have owned 2 or 3 of these amps and this design was used in other type amplifiers as well. 2 to 4 watt dead key is fine for all old tube amplifiers. The Firebird should do close to 400 to 500 watts PEP you probably have a couple weak tubes .
I picked up a Maco 200 and it was a mess underneath someone screwed the keying circuit up and ended up putting a toggle switch to key relay. I replaced the bad components and got it keying but relay chattered constantly. I then put a capacitor across relay it stopped the constant chatter but...
Thank You sp5it i had put it back on shelf but will get it back down and check and compare those voltages. It transmits and receives great on all other channels and It transmits fine on channels 1-13 but will not receive on channels 1-13. Wouldn't a out of alignment affect all channels not just...
LMAO a Heathkit SB220 that amplifier I believe the deadkey will not make much difference it was designed for a 100 watt drive or more so go ahead and do the 10 watt deadkey . I have one of those on the shelf but i like my Phantom better right now for what I am doing. I have seen 200 watts...
sp5it I cannot find any info on voltages and where to check them on the Dak. It has the MC145106 pll in it . But do not know exactly how to find just channel 1 to check TX voltage? Channel selector board is numbered 1-8 on back and I can see PLL chip. Sorry not exactly sure.
I have about 6 of those amplifiers. I usually set my radio to a 2-3 watt deadkey and set the JB150 to a 3 watt deadkey to get my best results. It all depends on what you are using the small JB amp for. If you are using it alone for local talking then you can run a 10 watt JB deadkey and it works...
I have a Dak IX works good transmits on all 40 channels. It receives good on all channels except channels 1-13 all of these channels do not receive just a muffled sound . Any ideas on what to do ??? Thanks
I have a Golden Falcon Model 150. It is a 3 tube amplifier but the tubes are missing. It has 12 pin sockets I have tried but cannot find any info on internet on what tubes are supposed to be in amplifier.
I put a 680 ohm resistor in place of 1k and it keys up down to a 2 1/2 watt deadkey now and seems to be working better i also replaced relay spring with one a little stiffer. Thanks for the info about the capacitor i will look at that also.
nomamdradio I have changed and tested tube it's ok . The relay stays down does not go back up no click. Thanks to you i checked and It had a 1k resister and I replaced it and amp works no stick but only if radio deadkey is kept at 4 watt going into amp otherwise amp will not key. If I put 470...
I have a Kriss 200B amplifer the amp works but quite regular the relay after keying stays in keyed position and i have to switch to standby to get it off. I would replace relay but cannot find what type to replace it with. Here is what is written on side of it.
MILW. relay

I have been on QRZ taking the General test and the questions asked to me have actually nothing to do with knowing how to operate or use a Ham radio. Almost all the questions to me will be worthless one minute after you turn on your radio. I know now i will have to buy a book to learn the...
Road Squawker I have a Instruction manual and did best I could it is very hard to get this radio to run less than 50 watts am pep. I will try to go thru it all again tonight. I work on old tube linear's a lot so know about the zap factor for sure. I have a service manual coming . I really like...
