OldTech03 they say i am heard pretty good on the other channels but i have not had someone key up my radio and me in a mobile to hear it myself i will do that very soon. I see it has a Am Filter XF-30b and a SSB XF-32A in radio and do not know how to check if good or bad. It has crystals...
I bought this Yeasu 101E with 11 meters and am filter in it . I did this so I could use radio everywhere if possible. When I talk on am channel 27.165 I am heard on all 11 meter channels I can turn radio power level down but no difference. It does not seem to do this when in SSB lower or...
OldTech03 the people telling me this are 5 miles away and it is more than one radio operator so must be my radio. I had one of them go to other channel when i went to Lower Side Band and they said they could not hear me on another channel in that mode. I just bought this radio and cannot...
I have been thinking about getting my Ham technical license and have purchased ARRL book to help me and taking sample tests on QRZ site so was looking for a radio that I could multi purpose on I still enjoy 11 meters.. I am trying to talk a lot more SSB than am now and was using a Siltronix...
I do not even come close to the amount of electronic knowledge here but i know that limits are made to be broken. Every time someone says something cannot go faster , higher or put out more someone will prove them wrong. People here can say a SB220 will not do that amount of pep watt output...
Thank you nomadradio it is fixed now. I made a mistake on that transistor when I replaced it . I had mismarked board as for orientation and had that transistor wrong. When I took it out to test like you told me I found out what I had done. I am thankful for your help and the older gentleman LOL...
I have a Palomar 300a a older gentleman brought to me to try and fix for him. If you turn power on amp and amp on standby radio TX and RX good. Turn amp switch to operate and amp works fine as far as power out put but receive on radio drops down drastically . Put operate to standby and radio...
I guess I have been lucky I have used the Ebay 1969 finals and they have worked for me everytime. I tested a old 1969 got HFE-44 and UF-648 mv the ones from ebay were HFE-171 and UF-623 mv. I am not a tech but these are the readings I got.
Sorry for not replying nomadradio got busy with something else. My Saturn has bands A-F so a 6 band radio. I have not got back to radio been messing with a microphone that had been giving me problems. I really appreciate your replys and information and believe I am may have to take it to a tech...
Thanks nomadradio for info. I have transistor checker , multimeter, wattmeter and dummyload do not have oscilloscope. I could not find any voltages charts for this radio. I believe it has the 3600 board in it and thanks again.
I picked up a nice galaxy Saturn but it has no transmit output power. The TX light comes on and I can hear sound thru another radio when I key up Saturn but no watt meter reading at all. The receive seems to work fine except I have to turn volume up to at least midway setting to get decent...
I have a Tram 201A and when on LSB or USB it has a high deadkey and modulation light does not blink but stays bright and modulation not working right. I have tried other microphones and no difference. Any idea's please. Also has a hum thru speaker on sideband but not AM.
I have a Tram 201A receives and transmits fine on all channels when in crystal position but when I switch to manual channels 31 to 35 on VFO are not working also no receive in any of those channels when in selector position 31 to 35. The only thing common with all those channels is they use...
nomadradio and gigoni I thought this was a early version when I bought it. It has surface rust all over but no holes or bad places. With tubes keys up in all positions but I have no power output . I will try to fix or get it fixed if not will sell it to someone that will restore it but on shelf...
I have a old 12 tuber D&A that is different than any other I have seen. Has a top cover and bottom cover plus has two tuners and grid screw on left side of amp plus two and switches on front. This is probably close to first ones built maybe??.
Hmmm no comments about amplifier what a beast Vader is. That amps wiring upgrades I would have to do would stop me plus the fact I am too poor to afford one. I guess I'll just stay with my little sweep tubes amps and my big move will be to my Heathkit SB220 sitting on shelf someday.
