Number 5 wouldn't be an issue if one of the wires had shielding ... but none of them had any . I wired it all up and left pins 5 , 8 , and 11 a no connect . There were 11 pins and 8 wires in the cord that came with it , and none of them were shielded . So I figured that was the only possible...

So I bought an SB-102 , which didn't come with an HP-23 power supply , or their connecting cord . I ordered an HP-23B power supply , and I also ordered the 11 pin connecting cord separately , because the power supply also didn't have the cord with it either . Now the cord shows up unassembled ...
