Received the PCBs from board place , looks like I need to adjust a few things , guess that’s why the first order is never the final order lol. Board is too long to clear the lid but the MRF heatsink fits like a glove . Making the fingers a little wider also.

I’m interested in details of this mod. I know majority of the newer rigs run the AM audio through a DSP and a balanced Modulator. Icom rigs I have both suffer from low modulation .

Light scrubbing of the schematic tells me they used the same layout as the Lincoln II. Being that I have a Lincoln II I widen the receive and swapped the 2nd IF and it sounds decent and close to my modded 2950 in terms of audio quality. Sensitivity is nowhere near the 2510/Lincoln

I bought and used HG 2879, MRF454, 2312 and 1969. All were the same or better then originals.

Hg2sc1969 is like under $5 each. Mosfet are easy, voltage divider to the gate , just gotta bias the gate on .
