Received the PCBs from board place , looks like I need to adjust a few things , guess that’s why the first order is never the final order lol. Board is too long to clear the lid but the MRF heatsink fits like a glove . Making the fingers a little wider also.
I got a few 2510’s with bad finals and I’m using my Lincoln for reference. A few of the amp builders are repairing HG amps , sounds like something they’d make a video of the insides of one
Tried to toner transfer but that was giving me a hard time so I went and tried another free software. Still need to learn the whole 3d modeling though. Hope the hole gets drilled out correctly.
I’m interested in details of this mod. I know majority of the newer rigs run the AM audio through a DSP and a balanced Modulator. Icom rigs I have both suffer from low modulation .
Light scrubbing of the schematic tells me they used the same layout as the Lincoln II. Being that I have a Lincoln II I widen the receive and swapped the 2nd IF and it sounds decent and close to my modded 2950 in terms of audio quality. Sensitivity is nowhere near the 2510/Lincoln
Modulation transformer radios like the 29, pump out up to 35-40 volts peak to peak to the final. My take on the mosfet mod is to “volt” the final and prop up a voltage divider to the gate to drop 3.5 volts from a 8v TX source. Treat the final as a PA stage rather then a modulated stage, maybe...
the pic is a schematic section of the Galaxy 44 or any other radio that uses a 4558 for a mic preamp. pin 3 is the audio input and pin 1 is the output. Pin 1 and 2 form the feedback section. The Top Gun CP1 removes the R165 gain resistor and inserts the CP1 two wires. Between the two wires are...
Not sure why the Top Gun gets the bad reviews . I like them and always try to do my research before buying. Lately while browsing through schematics, I seen something cool. The K40 had a good mic circuit and sounded pretty good also. The schematic shows an opamp with a diode combo, resistor and...
My alternative to the LED ring , you need the daughter board for the LED , usually 8 for $6 on the Bay. LED options galore, easily swapped when you get bored of that color
