    New First 2 Meter Radio

I started with an FT-7800, then bought another. They are very simple and inexpensive dual band radios. I then bought an IC-2730, and I have to look at a book often to figure it out. I only keep the IC-2730 because of its features, not because I like the radio.

I'm driving it with 100 watts and in theory it should run cool and last a while.

    307 Amps?

I got a pic from the builder. I know the bias has a diode with 2 caps under those resistors someplace, but it's pretty hard to see in the pic. Good, bad, or just another copy?

    307 Amps?

Why does nobody do ab anymore? Is it really that complicated? Is ab that much better tha b? Is it just higher draw for less output turns people off?

    Watt meter

I'd spend a little extra for an ameritron. I thought my station was good to go until I tried an ameritron awm-35b and realized I had an ALC overshoot problem. The response is incredible, and well worth the money for the peace of mind.

    307 Amps?

It might even be better to keep it completely anonymous and just use a third party for the money? If you are a legitimate amp guy, contact a pillar of this community and we can anonymously run the money through them. None of us are stupid, so nobody is getting a free amp here. This isn't an...

Would any of the amp guru's here be willing to look at one of I sent one? It's a local guy that could be full of crud, or genius. I don't know. Obviously I'd love to have a local builder that was good. If anyone knowledgeable wants to check one out, let me know and I will send you the funds...

    What band is best mobile

Don't forget that we have to manufacture 10 times more cb radios than we did in 1990 just to keep the same number of operational radios in existence. 3 years is a pretty long life for most of the 11m exports that are common today.

Sad News Today Chris Darnell killed in Accident

I just hope his dad can deal with the survivors guilt, and that it was actually Chris's turn to drive. "It should have been me" can drive a friend mad, let alone a father. Rest in peace
