thanks for the info on further inspection the MB8719 is sitting in a socket which I know for sure isn't stock. Just weird the clarifier on this radio hasn't even been opened up. Just got it last week.

thanks buddy I'll add a SPST switch there to Pin 10 and ground the other wire. I see a lot of diagrams showing to cut the trace leading up to Pin 10. Is that if a 2000 had the MB8734 installed?

going to give this a try. Just got a Cobra 2000 that has a MB8719 PLL already installed in it from the factory. So I'm guessing the proper crystal is there also. Just going to go off the writen' schematic and add my 3 switches.

Just picked up my 5th Cobra 2000. It has the factory installed MB8719 PLL installed. How easy would it be to just had some wires and a couple of SPST to get some extra frequencies? Does anyone have the procedure for this? Thanks for any info.

Thank you so much sir DTB radio. This will help me out. Just trying to get the switch panel back to stock, looks like the schematic shows it. Right now brt/dim and ch9 switches are being used for extra frequencies. Going to put it back to stock and use a couple of spst switches mounted...

ok I'm not touching anything the radio works really good. only thing I need to do is check the bias which I have not yet preformed that yet. Need to check the service manual for the procedure

Brandon, hey wanted to ask you, what is the rectangular board with the 3 clips near the back? I see this design on all rangers. What is it used for and what is it's purpose? I been messing around with 148's/2000's for a long time and Uniden doesn't use that design. I'm just curious. Thanks.

ah ok, thanks. I just checked mine. Was a little high at 13.2V adjusted V17 to 12.5V

thanks I'll keep that one but I need the 696F base schematic. Putting wiring back to stock on the switch pcb board and someone changed it putting in extra frequencies. So I'm needing the wiring diagram to put the switch panel back to stock.

Does anyone have the schematic for this base station? I have one, someone removed the bright/dim switch for extra channels and I want to use the bright/dim switch again and I am trying to find out how it was wired up before it was modified. Will move the channel mod over to the NF switch. Thanks...

thanks for your response. I'm done messing with it. It's works great other than the low audio sound no biggie really. Maybe someday I'll send it out to a tech for repairs. Thanks to all that responded.
