2 of the greatest

Saw him and Lucille a few times. He makes it look so effortless and so easy. And he was a super nice guy as well.

My MB has the option for the TPM 2.0, but, that alone, from what I understand, will still not let you install WIN11. It also has to have a MB supported processor that supports whatever MS put into the WIN11 security requirement. I contacted MSI to check if there was a way to install WIN11 as I...

I just went to WIN 10 (last month), after using WIN 7 for a while. I don't like being forced to have to buy a new motherboard just to change OS. I just recently bought the Z270-A PRO MSI MB I have, well a couple of years now. I like to use Streets and Trips still, and 10 seems to work with it...

I have a Skywave DX350 REV A. It is made of metal. If you look close at the edges, it looks like he just used some shears to cut as they look pretty rough. Seems like he built a lot of protection in to them. I also included specs on the 2879AB, don't know if it was before or after the one I have...

I'm sure it wasn't Galaxy's customer service that hurt them. What impressed me the most other than the large meters, was a call to Galaxy, John, would result in someone answering the phone, and getting some real help. Cathy (If I remember correctly) was always pleasant on the phone and always...

Is the redco the same as the UFO Super Star 1604?

That's true to a point. I know my father in law put this 1604 in when it was new, the radio and the VFO, and still was working on the issue. Not to say it's not affecting the unit now as I did not recap the VFO.

My father in law was a tech, had 2nd class radio license, Army training as well, and a lot of other training he took. Worked on anything electronic from the tube days and on. I really didn't think I could do anything as I know diddly compared to him. I thought about getting it back to stock, or...

I replied in other other post. I had forgot I posted this. I had also recapped the 2000, and replaced a lot of the transistors in the power supply chain although I feel there was no need. Upped the cap for the main power supply etc.

I can tell you this seems to be normal. I have the same setup I inherited from my father in law and I know he played with it for a long time, and many hours of adding capacitors etc. Still has the same issue. I played around a little myself, but I am not a tech. Basically I moved what he had...

When I had my C64's, my father in law and I built custom supplies with metal project boxes. Of course that was when Radio Shack was a real electronics store. Along with Lafayette, Olsen and a spattering of others. I still have about 3 of the Commodore monitors, a couple of C64's (well at least...

All in all, I do like the big meter, on all the Galaxy's

Don't they have that covered with the RCI-29? I dunno, I like the look of the Galaxy-2547, or whatever they've turned into, or recycled. I have 2 2547's, they don't get much play, as I like my old school 2950.
