If you want to try cheap, the Quansheng K5's and K6's, will do this with a custom firmware.
The KD8CTC FW, can actually TX on SSB (actually DSB). My K5(8), does have 200mW out on 220. Will demod SSB. I am using the Egzumer FW.
AOR, Icom IC-Rx, some scanners work at that range that are pretty good.
I use a Kenwood TH-F6A for an application like that, which requires SSB demod at 220 MHz.
There are several versions of that radio. You need to be specific, with the model number and suffix. 674, 674A, 674B. If you don't want the Midland 79-892, let me know. Mine has been dead for decades and I miss it. It became a parts donor a long time ago.
I put a DDS VFO on my 674B last winter...
I highly recommend NOT using xtal. The few experiments I have performed with the 5351's, the TCXO became mandatory for stability. The 5351's I have, came populated with xtal. So, I got some TCXO's that will replace them.
I have been wrapped up in antennas and other things lately. I would like to contribute to this, but I don't have the bandwidth yet. I have an Agilent SA here, in addition to several others. But my 2 Aeroflex CSM's are down now. I have a couple of Rigol's, but I don't like them that much. They...
I have used all of the variants. Repaired all of the variants. Tested all of the variants. The current Imax is trash. The old Imax is old. The Maco is not going to fall apart within 18 months, as an Imax will and won't have RF on the coax shield.
There is better than a Maco out there, but if I...
You are still blabbering, about a DEALER, supporting a radio that they didn't make. When your Icom radio is not doing what you *think* it should, who do you contact for support? The dealer that sold you the radio that Icom made? Or do you contact Icom support? I know who I would be reaching out...
Wanted Lafayette Comstat 25B Late Version Manual/Schematic/ Block Diagram/ Voltage chart/Alignment.
There are two versions, early, uses 6AQ5 AF amp, 6AN8 RX OSC. The Late version uses, 6BQ5 AF amp and 6BL8 RX OSC.
The SAMS I have, covers the early version radio, which, is not providing the info...
I have a bunch of 5351's, only one is adafruit. I have put my DDS projects on the back burner, probably till winter. I probably have some fakes too. I need to look at them more closely.
