    40m mobile question

I’ve been looking at a loop. I made one and tempaid it on my hhr car. Fed it with my tar heel screwdriver. No way I could’ve drove with it. Just yard playing. It tuned. It talked. How well I couldn’t say really but it did. It was a rectangle made out of old 1/2” tv cable coax that has the solid...

    Alinco sr8 separation cable length

Anyone have any idea on max usable length of cat 5 for remote mounting the face? The separation kit is 16’ but I need more. I had a roll 100’ long and tried it. Rx was fine. Tx was picking up all sorts of crap and making the wattage out like it had a tone. Works fine with the 16 that was in the...

    40m mobile question

I’m really wanting to ditch 11 meter. I’ve got a alinco hf and a tarheel. But I dunno that’s a whole thing. I had it set up before but didn’t use it much. Not enough to really see before the car broke down. In central Arkansas what would my local coverage look like in a mobile on 40 if I was...

80m horz delta mod modeling request

I can’t draw it where it looks right according to his description. But you hang a new triangle and cut the original long side in the middle where you cross them. Basically making a top and bottom sorta. About 5’ apart

80m horz delta mod modeling request

I use a 80m delta horizontal loop. Works great. A guy i talk to has given me some info to change it to a 160-6 instead of a 80-6 loop. Claims it improves range and extends frequency by adding a loop under the existing loop and tying it together. In the same footprint. Same balun. Same choke...

    Dc Grounded antenna question

Vertical. No choke. No balun. Good match. Bad noise

    Dc Grounded antenna question

Dipole 7s units. Astro 2s units. It’s substantial. The Sirio tornado and the 1/4 wave was just as bad. All I can think of is the Astro is higher and the Astro is grounded where the other 3 are open

    Dc Grounded antenna question

I built a dipole for kicks. So much static. It’s vertical. Anyway, someone explain the whole dc grounded shunting at the elements to me like I’m 5. I assume that might be part of the issue.

    ASTROPLANE best vertical antenna ever?

I think it’s a great thread. Full of mostly friendly polite theorizing. I enjoyed it. Thank yall

    ASTROPLANE best vertical antenna ever?

What makes it so quiet compared to others? blows my mind the difference between Astro and a different antenna. Is there another antenna that quiet?

    It’s just an antenna

The tornado came in. It sucks. Just staying with Astroplane. The screws won’t tighten. Ground plane rod fell out. Top fell in. After 3 hours. And noise my god the noise. Tuned good but ugh

10m Dipole at various heights plots

Thanks man. I’d been wondering the take off on a low dipole and polarization field. So if you ran a low horz dipole It’d be Omni and almost looks vertical on the chart? Am I seeing that right?
