New to radio

Hi, just registered. Hope someone can help. I have a Emporer 5010 10 meter and I'm mounting in my Jeep Cherokee. I figured to hook it directly to the battery. And was getting advice on cables. Coax seems to be what I was being told. I"m wondering if this is the best way. Or is there shielded...
