I don't know if its alternator noise because I built the above project and much to my dismay/disappointment the noise was un-affected. What do I try next?

Hi, I have some engine noise whenever I turn on my engine (obviously), it changes speed with the engine speed and when the engine is off it goes away. I know I need a noise filter but I don't know where to start. What brand? how big? etc... Keeping in mind I'm running a Northstar 450...

*shrug* I paid $30 for a tuned one, but the high/low switch didn't work, light for the meter was burned out. I doubt this helps, buy i tried. Good radio.

I do have a solid state kicker. an old siver eagle 200... I traded a record player and a cheap spring action BB pistol for it, so no big deal. I might play with it some more when i get home :bdh: Thanks for the feedback

I own a cobra highgear base loaded magnet mount. Basicly i have nothing but good things to say about it. It seems to perform about as well as a wilson. Doesn't shoot skip as well as a 102inch whip, but what do you expect, its shorter. Just my 2 cents
