The thing is not every signal does it. I can have a very loud signal almost pegging the meter and no distortion whatsoever then another one may have it. I would say no big deal they are strong BUT I can have a signal of s4 and sometimes have the overload?? It does seem better with the AGC...

The thing is the radio should not be like that at all especially for the price they are sell for $360 - $499 usd. it is ridiculous to find problems like that is such a high priced piece of junk

Sold it. I will stick with my Magnum 257 and Cobra 2000. Never had any problem with them
