There is a switch on the back labeled DX / Loc it becomes dirty at times and makes the FRG 7700 appear deaf. Needs sprayed with contact cleaner from time to time. Good Radio
What I do since I have my 2950dx as a base setup is I just hookup a quality speaker that has low and high filters on it. I have a Kenwood Sp 820 and a Sp 31 You can get them on ebay for a good price used. The 2950 sounds excellent through either speaker. You can cut out the highs on the...
Hi, I had just got a new RCI 2950DX blackface model and when doing the E-chip conversion I noticed a small board about the size of a dime or nickel that was very loose it was just glued to a rubber piece. I believe it goes to the mic connection. Anyway it is not stuck on there very well at all...
The thing is not every signal does it. I can have a very loud signal almost pegging the meter and no distortion whatsoever then another one may have it. I would say no big deal they are strong BUT I can have a signal of s4 and sometimes have the overload??
It does seem better with the AGC...
I have gotten another 955 a few days ago which was the same as the other one with the distorted ssb.
I tried a 100uf capacitor which seems to be the standard that people use on other radios for agc it didn't really seem to do anything at least to my ears.
On a whim I stopped by Radio...
Well here is the agc circuit that Shawn sent me from Stryker if anyone wants to play with it? I am not sure if the timing will help with the overload though. But there it is - The circuit is in the attached file
Report back your findings if you work on it.

The thing is the radio should not be like that at all especially for the price they are sell for $360 - $499 usd. it is ridiculous to find problems like that is such a high priced piece of junk
I don't see how it could be missed? I have seen the Anytone 5555s having the same problem and someone came up with a mod for it..Have also seen the latest Anytone 5555 Version 6 with the problem corrected.
I have seen a video of the New Lincoln 2 up on you tube and I got to say it doesn't...
I sent an email to a Shawn at Stryker Radios Here is his reply back below -
"Hi Steven,
I've not heard of that before, but there are a couple of resistors that can be played with to change the timing of the AGC circuit. I'll find those this afternoon and forward them tonight.
hank you...
Stryker 955 AGC mod
Anyone know of a mod to do to the Stryker 955. It suffers the same problem as the early versions of the Anytone 5555 on SSB as I believe the agc is too fast and slowing it down may fix the strong signal overload problem. I would love to be able to fix this. If anyone has...
