Thanks guys for all your help...
The reason I asked it because the mic element in the UG8's WERE different than ALL the other amplified mics!!
And yes Vanilla Sky... pics would be great as long as you can tell me which of the nine wires go to the four pin plug.
Thanks,
John
Well...
I just decided to keep the mic. I will either build the amp board that originally came in the D-104 or build the speech processor I ordered the parts for a couple of months ago, and put it in it.
One question though...
The mic head has the back cover of the Silver Eagle. My...
Thanks RatSoW8...
Dealing with an emergency. I will get some pics up this evening sometime before 6:30pm EST.
Thank you again,
John
PS - I have noticed that the mic head says D-104 and the base says UG8 :)
Yes... actually I got screwed on this mic. Just got it in from eBay today. Was supposed to be an ampped mic.
Even has the back cover of a Silver Eagle mic.
Came with a phono plug on it no less!!!
Guess I'll stick a 4 pin plug on it and put it up for sale on eBay. Then try again...
Thanks,
John
Thanks Binrat...
Actually, that was the first place I went...
Best I can tell the D-104 manual there is for the amplified version only.
Thank you,
John

Wow... where did that come from?
Tit for tat, right?
I'll say it in a more simple way for YOU!!!
I did not profess to have the knowledge, I said I knew of the books.
Um... that means I DO NOT OWN THEM, therefore do not have the knowledge in them.
Simple stuff really!!
PS - if you can not...
Thank all you guys for the info...
However... I promise you, I know damn near EVERY SINGLE BOOK ever written on the subject of Cb repair/servicing since the 50's.
As stated, I am looking for downloadable PDF's on the subject.
Thank you much, again for your time and effort.

Your awesome iwillie... thank you.
Few questions please...
What do you mean tr-24 "disables both am/ssb? Exactly what is it disabled?
I did see ONE T-92 style transistor that has been removed but don't remember which one.
R-131 was cut but I resoldered it.
I would like to have all power...
The performance between the 1000 and the 5000 is virtually the same. The big difference is the amount of power each will handle.
The 1000 handles 3000 watts and the 5000, 5000 watts.
For your purposes, I'd recommend the 1000. Less money and performance is top notch.
If you are going to...
Unless you have a damaged radio (new or not) you have a problem in your antenna system. Check for a short and put an SWR meter on it. Even if it worked (or seemed to be working correctly) or not.
The 19 has no SWR warning light. You may have had the problem and did not know it.
As far as the...
Thanks guys...
Anyone know this board well enough to look at the pics and tell me what has been done/undone?
Or at least, does anyone have a virgin board that they can take some pics of for me to review?
Thank you all for your time and help,
John
I am wondering if anyone may be willing to share any PDF's you might have on understanding and/or repairing CB Radios?
Even older ones.
Thank you for your consideration,
John
Thanks Robb...
The over modulation and humming sound problem was resolved by removing the R126 jumper and putting in a new resistor. Radio is usable now.
Just need a 2000 expert to look at the board pics and see what should and/or should not be there.
Thank you for your help though.
