The relay is in a closed plastic cover and I did use electronic cleaner after removing the top screw and let it dry out completely prior to retesting the unit. There is no oxidation or pitting on the contacts of the relay. Thanks for the suggestion. 313
Hello Folks, I have a NOS Palomar Skipper 300 that runs the 8950 tubes which are brand new as well. The problem that I am having is when it is in the standby mode the radio transmits thru the amp and has wattage to the dummy load but when I switch to operate I get not wattage through the amp...
Hello All, CBTricks used to have schematics for various power supplies but I can't seem to find one. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, "313"
Kamikaze, I agree with you about the tube testers because even though a few of the tubes do show in the 90%+ range upon key up of the transmitter the tubes will show some blue in them. Also, I am hitting it with a (1) watt dead key. Do you think that is to low of a carrier. What would be...
Hi Kamikaze, The Bird meter is strictly RMS with (6) 6LQ6 tubes in the final circuit (3) 6LQ6 in the driver circuit and (1) 6JR6 as a regulator? tube before the driver tubes. So, I would tend to think (1) hitting (3) hitting (6) if that makes sense. And I am seeing 535 on SSB and 375 or so on...
I have acquired a D&A PDX-400 10 tube amplifier using (9) 6lq6's ranging from 92%-100% and (1) 6jr6 tube @ 100%. I am hitting it with 1 watt swinging approx 20 watts. Using a bird watt meter I can only get a maximum wattage output of only 535 on SSB and 375 or so on AM. I have read that...
Hello, I have a D&A PDX-400 amplifier with 6LQ6 tubes that have been checked and they are anywhere from 90-100% with no leaks, good grid however I have very low output say 100 dead key swinging to 250-300 with a 3-4 watt carrier. Is there anything that I should be looking for to rectify this...

dowkey
it is sitting on the other one which is also the same type connector. if it needs a dpdt relay it would be a pl-259 type because thats what the radio and the amplifier itself has. "313"
Hello, I have a homebrew amplifier that has a dowkey relay in it that was setup with a heathkit 2 piece separate transmitter/receiver that uses 2 separate coaxs. Is there a way to adapt the amp/dowkey relay to be able to use a single coaxed 10 meter transceiver unit on it? Any help would be...
How many cb radio shops can you remember in central and souther nj from back in the 70's 80's & 90's. Can you remember the service that you got from the techs names & shops of the old days? That's an interesting thought considering how few there are nowadays. "313"
