Codeman: you're doing good. I'm a local in my o4 Caddy in Scottsdale. I run a Yeticom Optima MKIII off a Wilson 5K barefoot. The best I've done so far is only Maine and Nassau Bahamas. Waiting for my 2970N2 peaked and tweaked.

Well, I'm going to have my new Optima MK III installed today with my old reliable Turner Plus Three and see how it squeals with my Wilson 5000.

Looking forward to it. We just have to agree on the freq and keep trying.

I checked my mic and it was used for a Uniden 2510 and is a Five Pin. I need to convert it to an Icom Eight Pin for my new Yeticom optima. Has any one found and adapter or must it be hand wired?

I just ordered my Yeticom Optima MKIII, with cranked up amc to optimal. It should be here Jan9th approx. I have to convert my Turner Plus Three to the eight pin Icom layout. It seems I'll have to live with the hump floor mount as all other options have too many limitations. Tucker 442, now...

So compared to the Yeticom which do you like better?

I'm 6' 3" so the back on my seat is inclined way back making me even further from the floor hump mount. Changing the rig for larger numbers is not a viable option as it violates my radio selection criteria.

Optima Mobile Mounting Caddy Deville 2004 Yeah, detachable faceplates would be great but would you be prepared to pay an additional $200.$300 bucks more...I doubt it.

Thanks, I checked out the coffee cup radio mount. I'm not sure it'll hold the radio bracket plus a three pound radio. I'll have to call them in the New Year, thanks anyway.
